Today is my first blog post - Welcome!

Two weeks ago we had a storm blow through here and leave 3 feet of snow for us.  I was fortunate enough to be around when the temperature began to warm up. As I saw the fog rising from the snow I grabbed my plastic cameras, DSLR, zipped up my high boots and got myself over to Elizabeth Park (the oldest rose Garden in the nation).  I love Elizabeth Park, especially in the winter when there are not many people there and there is atmospheric light from either fog or early morning mist or the slant of late afternoon light.

This Blog will be about photography and other loves I have that are visual, especially fiber, but that will be another day.

Finally, as an NPS member I requested for consignment, a Nikon D600 and the PC Micro Nikkor 85mm f/2.8 lens.  The lens is such a  great lens for tilts and shifts, it's ALMOST  as good as my Sinar 4 x 5!  I hope to make some portraits with this lens asap!
